GLIMPSE OF A BREATHTAKING INTERNATIONAL DAY DISPLAY


Today I would be preparing you for a very long post ahead. I would be talking about international day, one of the school activity that makes school functional. Other school activities that make schools functional include Cultural Day,Children day and Career Day. But this post will be limited only international day.

INTRODUCTION: An International day is day set aside by schools to informed the students of the various countries of the world and their cultures. It cut across the different countries in the world.

It is with utmost delight and honour that I stand this day to welcome all and  sundry on this great occasion. This is another special day that we have mapped out to educate and also entertain you. In the quest to achieve unity in cultural diversity and to uphold the shared heritage of mankind we deemed it worthwhile to celebrate this special day.
Engaging in events such as this, is another way to learn, achieve success and at the same time bring out the best and the hidden talents in our students and pupils. Our parents and Guests not left out. They are always educated and entertained whenever they grace our occasion especially one as this.
Today,we showcase the cultures of some countries of the world. Such countries include Britain,USA ,India, South Africa, Australia, France, Bahamas and Dominica Republic. You may have heard about these countries of the world. Today, we are bringing them to your doorstep. We will beautiful ly showcase their various cultures. It will be of great pleasure to watch your children display the pattern of dressing, food, dance, greetings, songs, language and the general lifestyle of each of these countries.
You will attest to the fact that the events and activities we organize make great impact and leave indelible marks on our children, the [ your school name] and the society at large. We perform excellently in academics and also in extracurricular activities. We bring out the best in our students and pupils within and beyond the four walls of the classroom.
Ultimately, we are grateful to God, for a day like this. To you our dear parents and friends , we say thank you for honouring this epoch event. Your experience today will be a unique one; assure you. Sit tight, relax and watch us make the best of this great occasion.

SETTINGS:
International day setting cut across the following list of countries.

STAGE SETTINGS :
The stage on which the international day is going to be observed is always decorated with beautiful designs of pictures of famous indigenes of those countries. It is also decorated with colours of the flags of such countries .The occasion is graced by parents and attendees who have heed to the invitation send across by the celebrating school. 


SCHOOL:
The school on which the international day is going to take place is always on a very large banner either place on top of the gate of the school or on the wall of the school for passers-by to see and know what is happening. Besides another big banners is placed within the school to keep the students aware of the exquisite event. The banner are always decorated with international day and flags symbols of the various participating countries. 


INTERNATIONAL DAY SYMBOLS:
The most famous symbols used during international day include British flag for the Britain,Bahama flag for the bahamas,USA flag for the USA,Australia flag for the Australian, India flag for the Indians, South Africa flag for the South Africans, The country flag on which the international day party is going to hold,beautiful colourful decorations of white,purple,green,orange and different shades of colours as seen in the flag of the different participating countries.The national symbols and culture are also displayed.

COSTUME:
The clothing put on during international day depends entirely on the attire of the various participating countries belonging to a particular continent.For the USA black suite coupled with tye is worth going for. For the France, the black graduation gown clothing is worth going for. For the Bahamas white shirt and black trouser clothing is what going for. For the Australian white shirt and black trousers couple with tie or any similar clothing is worth going for.For the indians the bridal satin for the girls and white robe for the boys or any other similar India attire is worth going for.In the absence of a uniform pertaining to a particular country similar raiments is worth going for.


MAKEUP:
The different students representing the different countries are usually attired exactly the way the countries they represent popularly attired.

MAKEOVER:
The Indian girls are usually makeover with their red and white powder coupled with different colours of bangles,nose rings,eye pencils etc.
The boys are usually headbanded with turband with black mark made at the centre of their forehead .

PARTICIPATING CLASSES:
The classes that can participate in the international day display includes the nursery, primary and secondary sections.The best choice is to seperate the students into different countries mixing them up from nursery to the secondary school classes.


OVERVIEW OF THE RANKING PARADE:
The Boyscoutt will be the ones to parrade into stage first to usher in the rest of the countries.To do this they will have to march in first to host the flag of the country on which the international day is going to take place.There should probably be seven participating countries.There should be eight bucket filled with sand on which to mount the flag of the seven countries and the participating country.Each participating country will have to march into the stage after the boyscoutt have parrade into the stage to mount their flag. First to parade into the stage with their regalia and any music popular  to their country is the unique USA . Followed by the France  fully dressed with their attire and a music related to France.Then the Bahamas fully dressed in their regalia will follow, Then after these the rest of the different countries would parade with music related to their country.


POPULAR SONGS SANG BY THE PARADING PROFESSIONAL PARTICIPANTS:
The song to be sang during international day is popular to the country of interest,each participating country representative should be able to sing their parading music very well which can be done by continuous practice before the international day thereby making the ceremony graceful.


D.J.:
All the participating countries should summit their country songs to the D.J. during the international week practice before the D-day.

CHAIRMAN :
Before the occasion an appeal is usually send to famous parents of the students would will be available to chair the occasion. 

PRESENTATION AT THE STAGE
The different participating countries should be able to demonstrate a popular drama or culture of their countries. The dance step and the dance pattern and style of their countries should be display.There should be song for the marching in parade ,song for the cultural display and song for the marching out parade.


ANTHEM :
Usually every school events is usually started with the anthem including the international day. So begin your favourite international day with all the anthems and pledges, including the national anthem,pledges and your school anthem and pledge.

MASTER OF CEREMONY:
The M.C. of the occasion is usually the best English teacher of the school and few brainy students of the school who acts as an assistant M.C. There should be atleast four assistant masters of ceremony.

A leaflet is created serially which contains all the activities to be performed during the international day and is being red and followed by the M.C. who have already distributed the programs to parents and all the envitees and attendees.

DRAMA BY THE PARTICIPATING CAREER GROUPS:
Different types of drama are displayed by the participating countries, particularly those drama peculiar to the country of interest and others too numerous to mention.



ENVITEES PARENTS AND ATTENDEES:
The occasion is grace by parents,attendees and envitees.The audience is position in such a way that there is space for the parading scouts and countries of interest. The podium is placed directly in front of the parents,attendees and the envitees who came to graced the occasion strictly on invitations.

PARNEL OF JUDGES:

The parnel of judges is set up,usually comprises of teachers who select the best parading countries during the matching parade and during the drama sessions by the different countries of interest. As well as the beauty pageant both boys and girls from each country. 

Vote of thanks:
This is usually done by senior prefect boy or girl.

Closing prayer:
This is usually done by the Principal or vice principal academics.
