Saponification:
Hydrolysis of fat and oils wil yields propan-1,2,3-trol and the corresponding sodium and potassium salts of the components fatty acids.These salts are the principal constituents of soap.This process is also known as saponification.

INGREDIENTS
The recipe and chemicals (in their standard quantities and mixture ratio to produce 20 Litres of thick liquid soaps includes the following:
• 1 Kilogram of Nitrosol (1000 Grams of Nitrosol)
• 1/2 Kilograms of Caustic Soda flakes (500 Grams of Caustic Soda flakes)
• 1/2 Kilograms of Soda Ash (500 Grams of Soda Ash)
• 1/3 Kilogram of Sodium L.S (80 Grams of Sodium L.S)
• 1 Kilograms of Texapol (1000 grams of Texapol)
• 3 Litres of Sulphunic Acid (3000 Ml of Sulphunic acid)
• Sufficient quantity of fragrance(Morning fresh or Orange flavour etc.)
• 1 Tablespoonful of Preservative (Formalin).
•Colourant (Blue,Green or pink or yellow)
•20 Litres of Water
FUNCTIONS OF INGREDIENTS
•The Natrosol acts as a base and also a thickening agent during the production process.
•The caustic soda serves the purpose of removing dirt.
•However, the usually high acidic concentration of the caustic soda which can peel the skin when it gets in contact with it is neutralized and diluted by the Soda Ash.
•The Sodium L.S is the main active foaming agent in liquid soaps.
•Texapol makes it more foamy.
•The Sulphuric acid is added as a catalyst to boost the Sodium L.S and also, to work as a minor foaming agent.
•Fragrance, gives the desired odour.
•The colorants adds color to the product.
•Water is used for the dissolution, mixture and fermentation of the various ingredients.
As soon as you procure these inputs insufficient proportions as stated above, proceed to your production floor. However, take a very good note that liquid soap passes 2 main production processes before it is ready for consumption. Let me vividly explain the 2 stages and the processes involved in each of them below:
(1). THE FERMENTATION PHASE:
The name of this process describes what it is all about at a first glance. Here, the respective inputs are fermented separately so as to get them ready for injection into the main production process. Thus, it involves the following activities:
• Soak your soda ash inside one litre of water for a complete day.
• Soak the caustic soda inside one litre of water for a complete day as well.
• Soak the Sodium L.S in 400Ml of water for 24 complete hours also.
Take note that you have to soak your Caustic Soda,Soda Ash and Sodium L.S in water a day before you soak other chemicals as stated above so as to get the fermentation durations for each of the ingredients right. If you fail to comply to these steps, you may end up with a bad output or even expose your health as well as those of the people around you to sever dangers and environmental hazards. So be warned.
(2). THE MIXING STAGE:
At this point, you have to get together all your ingredients for the liquid soap production and blend them together following the due processes. This is done on the actual production date. Get a big basin or an open container and also a turning stick for the mixing activity. Safeguard yourself properly by putting on your hand gloves. It is also advisable to mask your mouth and nose and also, the entire face with a suitable transparent mask if possible so as to secure your body and health from the reactions of the soap-making ingredients and chemicals.

• Get your caustic soda. Add it into the container and turn them together inside the basin.
• Add the Sodium L.S solution into the container too and stir the mixture again.
•Add your texapol liquid to the mixture.
• Now, check the thickness of the mixture and consider adding more water or not depending on your observation or according to the specification or the quality of the liquid soap that you want to produce.
• Add any industrial perfume of your choice to your taste into the mixture to give it fragrance. Do so gradually and stir the mixture until you are okay with it.
• Choose a color for your soap which could either be green or pink or yellow depending on the colour you want, dissolve it inside water and add it little by little to the mixture until you get the desired color for your soap.
• Congratulations, you now have your liquid soap / detergent at this point.
PACKAGING
Package your products in well-designed containers. Brand your products. If you are producing on a large scale commercial basis.
PRECAUTION
