Earth and sky movement refers to the movement of the Earth which causes day and night and different seasons.

1. Earth’s Rotation

Earth’s rotation is the spinning of the Earth on its own axis.

Earth rotates from west to east

 It takes 24 hours (one day) to complete one rotation

Earth’s rotation causes day and night

2. Earth’s Revolution

Earth’s revolution is the movement of the Earth round the sun.

Earth takes 365 days (one year) to complete one revolution

Earth’s revolution causes seasons

3. Day and Night

Day occurs when a part of the Earth faces the sun

Night occurs when a part of the Earth faces away from the sun
